In The Opinion of the Chair: Obama's Democrats Telegraph Obama's Campaign

Just as America prepares to hear a plea from Barack Obama for four more years, The Daily Beast arrives with a big leak of Bob Woodward's latest big book.

Not helpful to the president's case. Not helpful at all. America does not need for more years of an in-over-his-head whiner; a petulant egomaniac who does not seem to understand the most basic of economic principles and who is a lousy negotiator to boot.

Last night Bill Clinton did his best to raise a prostrated presidency, but for all the reasons detailed in The Brief Against Obama and because of the unique personality Barack Obama brought to the office as depicted in the blockbuster 2016, all the king's horses and all the king's men aren't putting POTUS back together again.

And by early morning tomorrow we will all be treated to another unemployment report that will make it 42 consecutive months of this most disturbing of measurements remaining above 8% when the first promise of Team Obama was that passage of the Stimulus would guarantee that unemployment would never rise above 8%.

The convention has been on the fiasco trail from opening night when the introductory video proclaimed that "the government is the only thing we all belong to," but which topped that with the floor fiasco Wednesday which saw the majority of DNC delegates lustily booing God and Israel as a puzzled Convention chair Antonio Villaraigosa entered convention lore by using Chicago Rules to declare the platform amended when it obviously hadn't been amended. The Democrats couldn't muster a majority to endorse God and Jerusalem much less two-thirds. Those delegates are the folks running the agencies and staffing Team Obama at the polls. The cost of their collective incompetence is all around us in the smoking ruins of the Obama years.

Dems are putting on a happy face and will cling to any convention bounce that comes from the in-gathering of the base, but Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan return to the hustings tomorrow and Romney will be on Meet The Press Sunday, making the simple argument again and again: It isn't working, hasn't worked and won't work. Do you really want four more years of this on-going collapse of America?

We understand a lot of people in the Charlotte hall are on Obama's payroll, directly or indirectly. We understand that transfer payments are flooding out of D.C. to the dependent class and that class will vote --in person or by proxy under Chicago rules, often twice and three times.

But the GOP and independents are counting on the innate good sense of most Americans to call the whole mess off and start over.

When Ronald Reagan beat Jimmy Carter in 1980, Time Magazine had an issue with a cover picture of Reagan on the street the day after, over the title "A Fresh Start."

That cover hangs in my office, and I hope --pray really-- that there will be a second such cover on the wall in two months time.

There are real questions whether America could rebound from another four years of this disastrous stewardship. As Clint Eastwood said last week, sometimes you have to let them go, and the Democrats in convention have only reinforced that conviction. They are not fit top govern and their leader doesn't have a clue how to do so.

The prying out will not be easy, because the tactics used by Democrats through the early voting season and on Election Day so closely mirror those employed yesterday to jam through the result they wanted despite the repeated votes of their own delegates. It will take lots of lawyers and lots of GOTV and other infrastructure.

So please dig deep. The links to Romney/Ryan and all the other key campaigns are here. Whether $5 or $50 or $500, please give generously and soon. The real campaign begins tomorrow, and the president won't go gently into the night. Chicago Rules are in play as we saw yesterday.
