Gilded Reframe – SNOPES

It has become a dependable cycle that if anything arises that is embarrassing or worse for the Biden family, then the press will rely on implausible deniability and unreasonable doubts to cast questions about the veracity of any evidence. From Hunter's laptop to bribery payments to The Big Guy to handgun application falsifications, anything deemed quasi-questionable will be used to declare the ENTIRE story fraudulent. Aiding in this mission are the fact-checkers, using their lengthy obfuscation BS tactics to "confirm" narratives – until ironclad evidence is dropped into their laps.

Quietly, it has been learned that a couple of weeks ago, Snopesaltered its rating on the veracity of Ashley Biden's diary. Long stated to be an item in question, the site came around to verify it is real, based on Ashley's own testimony that it was "stolen" from her. (She had abandoned it in a recovery home.)

Of course, while the site long held that it was "unproven," this claim had to ignore two people charged and ultimately convicted over the diary…that was claimed to be "fake." They were not charged with libel or counterfeiting, they were charged with theft, and selling stolen property – tough charges to make stick over an item that does not exist.

Both Kinds of Standards – ASSOCIATED PRESS

  • We were not aware that politicians were barred from employing their First Amendment rights.

Fresh off of filing erroneous reports on the Governor Ron DeSantis campaign trail, the AP's Steve Peoples is now on the broader political beat. His reporting is not becoming elevated in quality.

Mr. Peoples discovered that Speaker Mike Johnson dared to travel to New York and hold a brief presser outside the courthouse where Donald Trump is standing trial. This has greatly perturbed Mr. Peoples.

"Tearing down the judicial system"? By commenting on the case? Well, that certainly has never happened before. Well…unless you may want to count the CURRENT president, making similar comments about active court cases. But that, as we all understand, is completely (D)ifferent.

Matching Media Memorandum – CBS NEWS

  • Those talking points got fired out pretty quickly, eh, Robert?

Matching the "opinion" of Mr. Peoples about the audacity of Mike Johnson is Robert Costa. He even dropped the "second in the line of succession" line, exposing the copy/paste reality of this talking point. But Costa also exposed a facet of these court cases as he attempted to question Johnson outside the courthouse.

The question he bleated as Johnson walked off was whether he would still vote for Trump if he were convicted. And there is the evidence that these charges are pure political farce, as that is the goal of these trials all along.

Legalized Press-titution – MSNBC

  • Lawfare – what the heck even IS that?

Just to completely underscore what a travesty of journalism the above examples have been, on the same day – THE SAME DAY – Democratic Representative Dan Goldman went on MSNBC and declared he has deposed Michael Cohen and is preparing him for his testimony in the Trump trial.

So to refresh:

  • A sitting Democrat coaching a witness to impugn a man on trial who is the Republican presidential candidate is completely acceptable and touted on the air with zero outrage.
  • Mike Johnson expressing his opinion on the case is an outright attack upon the entire legal system of this country.

Blue-Anon – REUTERS

  • Apparently, they were promised there would be no critical posts about their hatred.

Just to underscore something apparent for months now, we have more evidence of the media taking a sympathetic approach to the pro-Palestinian – and by extension, pro-Hamas – protesters. There has been no shortage of evidence of these demonstrators being hostile, aggressive, and even violent toward Jewish students on campus, but now we learn that there is something unacceptable taking place – they are being pointed out!

A pro-Israel website is compiling examples of the protesters who are demonstrating antisemitism, and this has led to the drastic result of these people receiving criticism online!

Imagine this affrontery! You are innocently calling for the death of Jews, and this website is making it easier for trolls to respond to you on social media!

First Amendment Strike Force – THE NEW YORK TIMES

  • When a paper's default approach to bad opinions is simply "Racism!"

Nellie Bowles has a new book, "Morning After The Revolution," with some behind-the-scenes reporting about how The New York Times offices operated during the pandemic. Aaron Sibarium of the Washington Free Beacon found a curious passage nestled inside the book.

Detailing some of the conversations she saw in the newspaper's Slack boards, Bowles noted there was one channel dedicated to misinformation, and essentially lorded over by one staffer who declared what was unacceptable content online and in "right-wing" media. They were in default mode that questioning the Wuhan Lab Leak was disinformation, and one person even asked if holding up three fingers was a white supremacist symbol.

This is "The Paper of Record" lording over what is acceptable speech in its content, another sign that this newsroom has devolved into a woke laboratory of content control.
