Francy Bennett
Biography
Francy Bennett was selected as ProsperityAlaska’s Communications Director in February 2011. Prior to joining ProsperityAlaska, Bennett had her own communications firm and has a distinguished career in the communications and non-profit worlds.
In 1995 Bennett began her career in non-profits managing a Boys and Girls Club, moving to also be a trainer for Boys and Girls Clubs of America and eventually Senior Manager of Urban Clubs. From 1999 to 2002 she worked in communications as a media buyer for Northwest Strategies and an Advertising Account Executive for the Anchorage Daily News.
In January of 2003 Bennett returned to the non-profit world as Vice President of the Alaska State Chamber of Commerce. In December 2005 she went back to media as the Advertising Director for the seven Alaskan furniture stores owned by Furniture Enterprises.
Bennett holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Cornell University, Ithaca New York.
Bennett wasn’t born in Alaska, but grew up from second grade on in western Alaska and graduated from Bethel Regional High School. She considers her current post her “dream job” and enjoys working with Alaska businesses to help them engage their employees in the public policy process. Bennett resides in Anchorage with her adult daughter who is going to the University of Alaska, Anchorage.
