WATCH: Woman Shoots Down Thug Within Seconds

Rarely is the impact of having a gun to protect yourself and your loved ones caught on camera in such dramatic fashion, but in Suazano, Brazil an extraordinary video emerged over the weekend showing just how crucial a gun can be when criminals attack.

The video reposted by Joey M. of YourVoice America on Twitter shows a group of parents and their children minding their own business. Suddenly, a man emerges from the left frame of the camera and pulls out a gun. While many scattered, one lady stood by. Suddenly, she pulls out her own weapon and shoots the man right in the chest. In a beautiful shot, the thug falls to the ground writhing in pain. The woman then walks over kicks his gun away and remains pointing her own weapon at him.

According to Joey, the woman is an off-duty police officer named Katia Sastre who was picking her son up from school. The robber ended up dying while no innocent civilians were hurt. While the event happened in Brazil, it still serves as a good reminder in America why the Second Amendment remains vitally important. Joey also posted another video showing an armed robbery thwarted by a good citizen with a gun.

Owning guns to use in times of emergency remains fundamental to the grand idea of self-governance.
