The Maine Senate Debate Gave Us a Look at the Future of the Democrat Party

Ashley Webb, the transgender Democrat vying to take over Graham Platner’s nomination for the U.S. Senate race in Maine, is perhaps the greatest representation of the Democrat Party we’ve seen this cycle.

Everyone wants to talk about how New York’s race-communist mayor Zohran Mamdani is the new face of the Democrat Party. About how he’s the logical conclusion of the policies that they have pushed for decades and the ultimate fulfillment of Democrat politics. That’s certainly a fair point and one that I would’ve subscribed to up until a week ago. That’s because we were introduced to Ashley Webb, the embodiment of the left's gender ideology.

And before you ask, yes, Webb does have a Reddit account and yes, it is just as horrifying as you imagined. Somehow, it's still less disturbing than what Graham Platner posted on his.

It’s hard to articulate just how much sense Webb’s candidacy makes for Democrats. Webb is an everyman (or woman!), who is a working-class songwriter that just wants to make America better (or something) and Webb has a plan to achieve that (maybe), like taking guns away from people he considers to be "a danger to society."

At least that’s what Maine Democrats would have you believe by even platforming this guy. The fact that they even try to pretend that this is normal is proof that this isn't even a progressive charade. At some level, they buy into the legitimacy of a Webb candidacy. So why shouldn’t they just go all in?

You have Sarah McBride in the House. You had Rachel Levine running part of the Biden administration. Isn’t it time that you get a transgender dude to run for Senate? Or, when the stakes are high, are you willing to put your progressive “principles” aside for political power?

Democrats, I’m begging you. Run Ashley Webb. Not just because it would give us an easy win in November, but because, deep down, it’s who you want running the country. Don’t deny yourself this opportunity for something as silly as a “Senate majority.” Follow your hearts!
