"Education is a right!"
How many times have we heard Democrats scream this at us? Far too many to count, of course. But they're lying, and we need look no further than COVID to prove that, because Democrats were fine with denying children (especially special needs children) access to the "right" of education in the name of "safety."
It was all a lie, of course, but if we're going to hold the Left to their own standard, they need to be called out when they interfere with the "right" to education. This includes Wisconsin's Democratic Governor, Tony Evers, who decided that children do not have the right to a disruption-free education and that teachers don't have the authority to remove disruptive students from their classrooms so they can do their jobs.
Evers just vetoed a bill that would have made it easier for teachers to just that.
Among Evers' many anti-parent/anti-schools vetoes, today he vetoed a bill making it easier for teachers to remove disruptive students from the classroom. https://t.co/JOvTS8iXgN

The News: The Wisconsin Institute for Law & Liberty (WILL) issued a statement in response to Governor Evers veto of AB 614 / SB 611, known as the Teacher Bill of Rights. The bill would have strengthened teachers’ authority to manage their classrooms, required parental notification when serious classroom incidents occur, and established clearer accountability so teachers can focus on teaching.
The Quote: WILL Associate Counsel, Lauren Greuel, stated, “Wisconsin faces declining academic achievement and a growing teacher shortage, and classroom behavior is a key factor to both problems. This legislation would have provided needed clarity and support for teachers to effectively manage their classrooms. It’s disappointing that Governor Evers vetoed bipartisan legislation aimed at addressing these challenges. Make no mistake, ignoring this critical problem will only worsen the crisis in our classrooms.”
Background: The Teacher Bill of Rights responds to years of feedback from Wisconsin educators who report inconsistent discipline policies, and that lack of administrative support has made it harder to maintain safe, productive classrooms. Current data show that nearly half of Wisconsin teachers report that classroom conduct rules are enforced only sometimes or never, and more than one in four report fear for their physical safety at school.
According to the Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty (WILL), the bill would have clarified when teachers may remove disruptive students (thus protecting classroom safety and instruction time), required clear plans to return a disruptive student to the classroom, mandated parental notification, and provided an enforcement mechanism for parents.
Student behavior has created a crisis in the classroom. But when bipartisan legislation reached the governor’s desk… he vetoed it.

"Wisconsin's teachers are facing a crisis in the classroom," the video says. "Given an opportunity to help, Governor Evers turned his back on students and teachers. AB 614 would have given teachers the authority to manage their classrooms, enforce rules, and be transparent with parents, bringing the focus back on learning. Our state already faces growing teacher dissatisfaction and burnout, resulting in teachers leaving the profession and student proficiency declining. Ignoring this crisis will only make it worse. Educators and students deserve support and safe classrooms. They deserve better."
Democrats hate you, and they hate your children. They want to put your kids in failing, dangerous public schools while they raise your taxes to pay bloated budgets that don't return results.
I work in a kindergarten and we have a kid who hurled an iPad, concussing the teacher leading to her being out for several days

Our 1st grade has a kid who throws wild shouting tantrums evedyday with the first hour
And our school is one of the better schools in EC!
Absolutely unacceptable.
I do believe that started in about 2010 when I was teaching. It said somebody to the office and they would send them back to your classroom no discipline no nothing just saying that the teacher did not understand the problem.

As we reported late last year, school districts are going to race-based discipline policies, telling teachers that disruptive behavior is "culturally appropriate" and accusing the teachers of having "privilege" if they express concerns over dangerous behavior.
Such policies led to the death of at least one student in Texas. Andrew Meismer, 16, was stabbed to death during class by Aundre Matthews, who had a long disciplinary record that the school district chose to ignore.
Governor Evers today denied families the chance to escape schools that don't work for them and insured those schools families are stuck in remain chaotic and potentially dangerous. https://t.co/QYZGT1LQ6X

He doesn't care.
In an absurd move from the so-called “education Governor,” teachers are left to face unsafe classrooms and declining student proficiency with no help. https://t.co/2rpYydMV0b

Democrats don't want educated children. They want indoctrinated children.
This legislation was about restoring order so teachers can teach and students can learn. Governor Evers' veto is a missed opportunity to support both. https://t.co/qkjYCTAAcy

The inevitable outcomes of this veto are exactly what Evers wants, of course. The chaos, failed education standards, and loss of teachers means that Democrats can demand more tax dollars to "fix" a problem they created.
