Matt detailed Thursday’s wild and very public fight between President Donald Trump and Elon Musk, who went for the jugular in accusing the 47th president of ties with Jeffrey Epstein. The war of words began over Musk’s opposition to the Big, Beautiful Bill though there were other factors reportedly at play, according to Axios, including the FAA using Starlink, the NASA nomination of Jared Isaacman getting pulled, the extension of his role in the administration as special government employee, and the elimination of the electric vehicle tax credits in the BBB. Musk even backed a call for Trump to be impeached and replaced with Vice President JD Vance. But later Thursday evening, a glimmer of hope emerged on X.
Billionaire hedge fund manager Bill Ackman reminded the two of an important point.
"I support @realDonaldTrump and @elonmusk and they should make peace for the benefit of our great country,” he wrote on X. “We are much stronger together than apart.”
To that, Musk replied, "You're not wrong."

As Matt reported this morning, Trump aides are pushing for the two to reconcile and have set up a Friday phone call between the men to make peace. Let's hope for the good of the nation that will happen.

Update: The phone call between the two doesn't look like it will happen.
Speaking on a phone call Friday morning shortly before 7 a.m., ABC News asked him about reports he had a call scheduled with Musk for later in the day..
"You mean the man who has lost his mind?" he asked, saying he was "not particularly" interested in talking to him right now.
He said Musk wants to talk to him, but he's not ready to talk to Musk. (ABC News)
