Big Tech Is At It Again Just In Time for the Election

Media Research Center (MRC) launched an investigation to tackle big tech’s ploy to interfere with the 2024 presidential election, and what it found is concerning.

Google is under fire after reports claim it is suppressing search results to favor President Joe Biden and hide former President Donald Trump’s campaign website.

According to MRC’s findings, when searching for a candidate’s name along with “presidential race 2024” on Google, Biden’s campaign website was the top result, while Trump’s website didn’t appear until after the first page of results.

“Google is blatantly interfering in the 2024 election,” MRC President Brent Bozell said of the probe.

When searching for a candidate's name and the words “presidential race 2024,” Google completely buried Trump and elevated Biden as the first search result. In fact, the tech giant excluded the only two major pro-life candidates from the top-3 search results, singling out Trump and Constitution Party candidate for president Randall Terry. Every other candidate appeared in the top-three results. But the tech giant’s censorship didn’t end there. Google again buried Trump’s campaign website as the 39th result, while elevating Biden’s to the very top in a separate set of searches for “republican party presidential campaign websites” and “democratic party presidential campaign websites” respectively. Unlike the search for “republican party presidential campaign websites,” when MRC researchers searched for “democratic party presidential campaign websites” not a single link appeared with their chief opposition party’s name in the headlines. Via MRC Research.

The investigation was conducted just days before Biden and Trump are set to battle it out on stage for the first time since 2020.

The results also found that the only two major pro-life candidates still in the 2024 race were nowhere to be found on the top search results page. However, the campaign websites of Biden, Independent candidate Cornel West, and Green Party candidate Jill Stein appeared on the first result page.

It is worth pointing out that ex-GOP presidential candidate Will Hurd’s former campaign website appears as the sixth result— 33 spots above Trump’s website.

In 2018, Trump accused Google of “rigging” search results ahead of the 2020 election. He accused the big tech company of focusing on "fake news" in its search results. He also claimed that “96 percent of results on 'Trump News' are from National Left-Wing Media.”

Google’s “massive and deliberate efforts to interfere in U.S. elections for the past 16 years is unacceptable and the biggest threat to American democracy today,” Bozell added.
