McConnell: Unlike Certain Others, I Will Offer Zero Condolences for the 'Butcher of Tehran'

Iran's former president -- known as the 'Butcher of Tehran' for his role in the mass murder of thousands of political prisoners -- was killed in a helicopter crash over the weekend, along with the country's Foreign Minister. A murderous hardliner within an evil regime, he will not be missed. Yet statements of condolence and sadness poured in from around the world after the news broke, not just from some of the worst state actors across the globe, but also from Western sources.  European Union officials, for instance, expressed sorrow over the "tragic" incident.  Did the Biden administration, which is forever fixated on appeasing these theocratic thugs, join in the chorus?  

They sure did:

The Biden representative at the United Nations Security Council also joined other members of that body to stand in honor of the deceased killer:

Are you kidding me?

While supposed defenders of freedom, liberty, and life publicly mourned the loss of a leader of one of the most violent, terrorism-facilitating governments on earth, many Iranian victims of the regime openly celebrated.  This takes courage:

In the United States Senate, Republican Leader Mitch McConnell directed his condolences appropriately, quite unlike the Biden State Department:

I, too, would like to extend my condolences to the people of Iran… For their long suffering under the brutal, theocratic rule of the Islamic Republic. I suspect a great many Iranians would rather Western admirers stop lionizing a man known as the ‘Butcher of Tehran’ for executing political prisoners. They might prefer that foreign leaders not further legitimize the regime that actively represses all of them...For years, Tehran has moved steadily in just one direction – toward more terrorist violence abroad, and more repression at home. And no matter who Iran’s president has been, the regime in Tehran has continued to engage in rampant proliferation of ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and UAVs while making steady progress toward a nuclear weapons capability. So I’d also like to extend my condolences to Iran’s neighbors who still live under the constant threat of a regime that practices what it preaches: Death to Israel, death to America, war on international commerce, and chaos across the Middle East.

Biden at least got this one right, in the face of an outrageous step from an illegitimate and morally-diseased institution:

A number of Benjamin Netanyahu's internal critics and rivals stood shoulder to shoulder against the ICC's appalling move, with unity government minister Benny Gantz calling its pursuit of arrest warrants against the Jewish State's leader for prosecuting a defensive war against a terrorist aggressor "a crime of historic proportion:"

I'll leave you with an underreported story about the Biden administration's abandonment of yet another country,  setting back America's ability to combat Jihadists in Africa, and leaving large amounts of equipment behind to the military junta and its Russian friends in the process:

"What is left to say at this point?" asked former State Department spokesperson Morgan Ortagus. "How does anyone defend this abysmal record?"
