Behind the Scenes at the Third GOP Debate

MIAMI — Wednesday night saw five GOP candidates take the debate stage just a short drive from where former President and current 2024 frontrunner Donald Trump held a dueling rally. Townhall got a behind-the-scenes look at the debate stage before the main event and spin room access following the two-hour on-stage showdown between candidates currently jockeying for second place in the primary.

A preview of the debate stage where five GOP hopefuls made their pitches to Americans and, more than a few times, butted heads.

The seats where NBC News' Lester Holt and Kristen Welker and Salem's own Hugh Hewitt sat during the debate that saw Vivek Ramaswamy take NBC News to task for its coverage of Democrats.

Whether the moderators' mugs held coffee or something stronger, this editor can't confirm.

Townhall Editor Katie Pavlich talks with Hugh Hewitt in the spin room after he moderated the third 2024 GOP primary debate and pressed candidates on, among other things, threats posed by China.

Vivek Ramaswamy was the first candidate to dive into the crowded spin room following the debate with many asking him about his opening remarks taking NBC News to task for its coverage and calling out RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis joins NBC News in the spin room — and then departed before making the rounds for interviews with other outlets.

Townhall Editor Katie Pavlich gets the first reaction from RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel following the GOP's third primary debate.

Katie interviews Ramaswamy about his debate performance and no-holds-barred opening statement.

Senator Tim Scott talks with Katie about his candidacy following the third debate.

Stay tuned for exclusive Townhall interviews from the spin room and sidelines of the third 2024 GOP primary debate and coverage of all the candidates and where they go from Miami with just weeks until Republican voters in Iowa begin the work of officially nominating a candidate to run in 2024.
