United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres gave a speech at the UN General Assembly Tuesday and excused the October 7 terrorist attack carried out by Hamas on thousands of innocent Israeli citizens. At least two hundred people are being held hostage by Hamas terrorists in the Gaza Strip and 33 Americans have been killed.
"The attacks by Hamas did not happen in a vacuum," Guterres said, falsely stating Gaza is under "Israeli occupation." Israel left Gaza in 2005. In 2007, the people of Gaza elected Hamas as their government, who turned the 25 mile strip into a terrorism hell hole.
Appalling. UN Secretary General António Guterres @antonioguterres says "attacks by Hamas did not happen in a vacuum." He is blaming Israel for the atrocious massacre of Jewish civilians by Hamas terrorists. He must resign. pic.twitter.com/5oJ8YCEWUd

The comments immediately sparked backlash and a barrage of fact checks highlighting the UN's enabling of Hamas and their murderous, genocidal behavior.
The @UN Secretary-General just said that, “the attacks by Hamas did not happen in a vacuum.”

For 15 years, the UN stood by and watched Hamas steal aid dollars, build military facilities in hospitals, store rockets in UNRWA schools, fire rockets from civilian neighborhoods,…
Secretary General Guterres @antonioguterres brought shame upon the United Nations today. His speech provided excuses and rationalization for barbaric terrorism.

There is never any excuse for the murder of children, the abduction of babies and the rape of women.
