As Democrats continue to embrace and refuse to condemn anti-Israel, pro-Hamas views — from the mainstream media to Capitol Hill and campus leftists to marches in the streets of American cities — President Joe Biden's party desperately needs a reality check on who the good guys are and why they're not the Hamas barbarians who slaughtered Israelis in the deadliest day for Jews since the Holocaust.
And, since Democrats aren't willing to listen to those across the aisle when they explain why America needs to stand with Israel for the good and safety of both Israeli civilians and any innocent residents of Gaza against barbaric Hamas terrorists, perhaps they might listen to Hillary Clinton, the 2016 version at least.
In a CNN-hosted debate between Clinton and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), Clinton explained — rather well, for once — the reality many Democrat leaders and voters now deny.
"I can tell you right now I have been there with Israeli officials going back more than 25 years that they do not seek this kind of attacks," Clinton said of terror attacks against Israel. "They do not invite the rockets raining down on their towns and villages," the former Secretary of State added.
"I don’t know how you run a country when you are under constant threat, terrorist tact, rockets coming at you. You have a right to defend yourself," Clinton reiterated before saying she still believed in the possibility of a two-state solution. Yet, when debating Sanders on the point of whether Israel's response to terrorists in the Gaza Strip has been "proportionate" (it has) Clinton acknowledged "of course there have to be precautions taken but even the most independent analyst will say the way that Hamas places its weapons, the way that it often has its fighters in civilian garb, it is terrible."

As Townhall has reported, Hamas continues to launch rockets at Israel from locations near schools, mosques, and United Nations outposts while claiming all casualties — including Hamas fighters — as civilian deaths. That reality, however, is now discounted by Democrats and their media allies who take the word of Gazan officials, all of whom are Hamas terrorists, as fact.
Clinton continued by explaining how the plight of Gazans is the fault of its terrorist government, not Israel — another reality ignored by many pro-Hamas and increasingly anti-Semitic Democrats. "Let me say this, if Yasser Arafat had agreed with my husband at Camp David in the Late 1990s to the offer then-Prime Minister Barat put on the table, we would have had a Palestinian state for 15 years," she reminded.
"It would be great – remember, Israel left Gaza. They took out all the Israelis. They turned the keys over to the Palestinian people," Clinton noted of Israel's decision, the exact opposite of an "occupation" as Democrats now falsely allege.
"And what happened? Hamas took over Gaza. So, instead of having a thriving economy with the kind of opportunities that the children of the Palestinians deserve, we have a terrorist haven that is getting more and more rockets shipped in from Iran and elsewhere," Clinton accurately explained.
Clearly today's Democrats aren't interested in the reality of how the Gaza Strip turned into a terrorist hellhole precisely because of Hamas. They don't care to blame the responsible terrorist parties for the abhorrent living conditions and constant danger created by Hamas and other Iran-backed terror organizations.
No, they'll happily parrot terrorist disinformation straight from Hamas no matter how debunked and flawed their explanations in order to continue driving demonstrations where the Hamas flag is proudly displayed in American cities, protestors dress up in Hamas garb without shame, and leftist Democrat voters parade through the streets shouting their calls for intifada. At the White House, even supposedly pro-Israel Biden's press secretary will turn questions about such a rise in anti-Semitism into an answer about Islamophobia and how Muslims are the "disproportionate" victims.
Was Hillary Clinton wrong about almost everything? Of course — just look at how her Russian "reset button" stunt fared. But that doesn't mean she didn't correctly understand that Israel was the victim of Hamas and other Iran-backed terrorists in Gaza and that the reality on the ground in Gaza was the consequence of Israel giving Gazans what they supposedly wanted — autonomy over the land — which saw Hamas seize power and make terrorism its sole aim to the extreme detriment of residents.
