Gov. Cuomo Alleges the Trump Admin 'Created the Cynicism' Around the Vaccine

I hope you've calmed down some since reading the headline. Yes, he really said that. And yes, he has some nerve. For months New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) has questioned the Trump Administration's Operation Warp Speed, which has done unprecedented work to help spearhead the development of a coronavirus vaccine. At one point, he even threatened to block the distribution of it, arguing that he'd first want his own team of health advisors to approve it before distributing it to New Yorkers.

And yet at this Wednesday presser Gov. Cuomo blamed all the "cynicism" around the COVID vaccine on the federal government.

The Trump administration, Cuomo argued, has imposed "overt political influence" on public health officials.

Please. If there's any skepticism about the COVID vaccine candidates, the Democrats can take the blame. In addition to Cuomo questioning the vaccine's safety and demanding his own handpicked team assesses it, then-vice presidential candidate Kamala Harris looked the moderator straight in the eye at the 2020 VP debate and said she would not take the vaccine if President Trump told her to. Not exactly inspiring confidence in the scientists and researchers who have worked tirelessly on it for months.

Cuomo announced on Wednesday that New York is set to receive 170,000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine by December 15.
