AOC Teams up with Stacey Abrams in Georgia Runoff Elections

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) is teaming up with Stacey Abrams in the fight for Georgia’s pair of Senate seats. The New York congresswoman claimed that Georgia is a “voter suppressed state,” and vowed to mobilize for Abrams’ interest group, Fair Fight Action, a dark money affiliate organization she founded after her failed gubernatorial bid in 2018.

Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez’s involvement echoes a greater effort by Democrats to influence Georgia’s runoff elections by encouraging supporters to relocate to the Peach State in order to vote, in violation of state law.

A Democratic majority in the Senate would allow the party to “change America,” as Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) said over the weekend, and would act as an avenue to fast track the far-left’s legislative agenda.

"Jon Ossoff’s and Raphael Warnock's votes in the Senate would give people like AOC a blank check to pass an extreme agenda that would fundamentally change America to fit their socialist worldview," said NRSC Communications Director Jesse Hunt. "Ossoff and Warnock have a history of surrounding themselves with people pushing an incredibly radical, anti-American agenda. These are the same people who could be influencing their votes and actions in the U.S. Senate."

Democrats need to flip both Sen. Perdue’s and Sen. Loeffler’s seats in order to clinch power in the upper chamber, and give President-Elect Biden a majority.
