Like many Americans, Alyssa Milano and her family decide to wear masks when going out in public. Wearing masks has become part of the norm when out-and-about.
Milano shared a picture on Twitter of her family with their masks on but what caught people by surprise was that the actress was wearing a crocheted mask with clearly visible holes.
Show me your masks! Masks keep people safe and healthy. Show me yours! Ready? Go! #WearAMask pic.twitter.com/MV9xANK9ll

People were quick to point out that a mask with holes is pretty useless.
Your mask doesn't look like it would protect you very well.

Wearing a holey mask is peak irony.

I’m not being sarcastic, and I know your concern is genuine and well intentioned. That said, a crocheted mask is about as effective as a balsa wood battleship. https://t.co/JYZeTYFmsS

At least the holes in her mask are much smaller than the holes in her “believe all women” theory. https://t.co/co3RQK1oGI

There are holes in your mask, love. https://t.co/yKEmiMqCfb

I have NEVER, in all my days, seen someone show such a brazen lack of self awareness https://t.co/lU4YSvNebU

Did anyone let her know that this crochet mask is nothing more than a fashion statement and will not keep anyone safe? https://t.co/n7k0UcxpiT

This is so classic shallow liberal stupid right here. Those masks wouldn’t filter out a fart or funky toes in that vehicle, let alone protect you and yorn from the Wuhan Virus. Come on now! ?? https://t.co/v33UiaTSjn

The actress says the inside holds a carbon filter.
Assholes, mask has a carbon filter in it. So, yes, it might be crochet but totally safe. #WearAMask

Let us see a picture of the inside of your mask, Alyssa. We just want to make sure you're protected!
