Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) declared China guilty on three counts. The first is regarding new revelations that the coronavirus that has now killed almost 150,000 people globally may have accidentally escaped from a Chinese lab where they were studying bat coronaviruses. On that point, Cruz said, the Chinese government is "stonewalling and refusing to answer."
The other two counts are just as damning. The Chinese Communist Party kept silent about the virus for weeks and silenced whistleblowers. Had they been transparent, Cruz reasoned that we could have gone in with health professionals and kept it as a regional issue, not a worldwide pandemic.

Thirdly, Cruz said the U.S. should be extremely concerned about the supply chain we've sent to China, including pharmaceuticals and medical devices. We need to bring those critical materials back, he urged.
If China "hadn't been afraid of being embarrassed," we wouldn't be facing a global pandemic, Cruz concluded. Likewise, if they hadn't concealed the virus, the senator wouldn't have had to introduce legislation to sanction Chinese officials involved in that cover-up.
The Ending Chinese Medical Censorship and Cover Ups Act of 2020 will be just "one of the necessary steps" Cruz will take to hold the Chinese officials accountable when the Senate reconvenes.
"China's censorship and suppression are now not only a threat to human rights in China and around the world, they are a direct threat to U.S. national security and our economy," he noted.
"China's responsibility and culpability for this pandemic is enormous," Cruz told Tucker Carlson.
So, it seems, will be the justice.
