Hey, NBC News, You Buried This Critical Detail in Your Article About Hydroxychloroquine

Well, it looks like NBC News is at it again. With no vaccine against the Wuhan coronavirus, there have been reports that the anti-malarial drug hydroxychloroquine has been effective in combating the symptoms of the virus. It is not a cure and it has yet to get the seal of approval from the task force as something which is recommended as a treatment for those infected with COVID-19. It’s a stopgap until we get a vaccine, giving us some breathing room regarding preventing future deaths. It’s a hopeful story that the anti-Trump opposition press is trying to squash. They can’t have hope. That means Trump is doing something right. That cannot be allowed to be broadcasted. And it’s the usual suspects. In March, NBC News reporter Heidi Przybyla tweeted a shoddy article from her colleagues about an Arizona couple who ingested chloroquine phosphate, a fish tank cleaner, which isn’t the same drug and Trump hasn’t recommended it but noted the anecdotal evidence that’s it’s worked on a lot of COVID patients. Yet, NBC tried to insinuate that this was Trump’s fault, as the husband died, and the wife was left in critical condition.

Now, Heidi is pushing her story about a woman who took hydroxychloroquine and died, which our friends at Twitchy picked up. Again, we have another piece that seeks to blame Trump for this woman’s death, but talk about burying the lede here [emphasis mine]:

A New York woman with coronavirus symptoms died last week after being prescribed a drug cocktail with known cardiac side effects, and family members say she was not tested for COVID-19 or for heart problems before receiving the medication.

[…]

In early April, Ligia, a 65-year-old Queens resident, was given the drug by her general practitioner after she reported having a bad cough, fever and shortness of breath. Ligia’s last name is being withheld on the request of her children.

While Ligia’s symptoms were consistent with those of COVID-19, the illness caused by the coronavirus, she was never tested for the virus, her brother-in-law, Lee Levitt, told NBC News. Ligia received the drug after speaking by phone with her doctor, Levitt said. She was never evaluated in person and received no heart screening or warning about the potential side effects.

“It was handed over like a bag of cookies,” Levitt said.

NBC News made two attempts to reach Ligia’s doctor for comment. A man who answered the office phone and identified himself as the doctor then said there’d been a misunderstanding and offered to take a message.

Levitt acknowledged that the family does not know that the drug caused Ligia’s death. The family has not received a death certificate.

Excuse me?! So, we don’t know. So, we have another grossly inaccurate story about a potential treatment for this virus at best and total fake news at worst. Over 6,000 doctors from over 30 different countries have rated hydroxychloroquine as the best drug to fight symptoms of the virus. Out of 1,200 US doctors surveyed, 65 percent would prescribe it to their family members, with 67 percent saying they would take the drug itself if infected with the virus.

The liberal media is rooting against America, this administration, and possible treatment. Why? They want more dead bodies to use as political ammunition against this presidency.
