Obama Makes a Thinly-Veiled Accusation of Fox News Being a 'Propaganda Network'

Former President Barack Obama made a subtle criticism of Fox News during his lengthy endorsement of his former Vice President, Joe Biden, in the video that was released on Tuesday.

Biden has become the Democratic party nominee after the last contender, Sen. Bernie Sanders (D-VT), dropped out of the 2020 election and endorsed Biden on Monday. Biden will officially become the nominee during the Democratic National Convention in August.

In the video, Obama said the United States' future "hangs on this election and it won't be easy."

"The other side has a massive war chest. The other side has a propaganda network, with little regard for the truth," Obama continued.

"Pandemics have a way of cutting through a lot of noise and spin, to remind us what is real and what is important. This crisis has reminded us that government matters. It's reminded us that good government matters. That facts and science matters," he continued.

In turn, Biden thanked Obama for officially endorsing him and "We’re going to build on the progress we made together, and there’s no one I’d rather have standing by my side."

The Obama administration was no friend to Fox News while the Democrats controlled the White House and vice versa.

"We’re going to treat them the way we would treat an opponent," Anita Dunn, the White House communications director, told the New York Times in 2009. "As they are undertaking a war against Barack Obama and the White House, we don’t need to pretend that this is the way that legitimate news organizations behave."
