CNN's Dana Bash Praises President Trump's Response - and Doubles Down After Backlash

I know April Fool's is only a couple weeks away, but I promise I'm not jumping the gun. CNN's Dana Bash really did have some wonderful things to say about President Trump and how he's handled the COVID-19 outbreak. Not only that, but she did it in front of her critical colleagues and she doubled down.

"If you look at the big picture, this was remarkable from the president of the United States," Bash said to her colleagues. "This is a non-partisan - this is an important thing to note and to applaud, from an American standpoint, from a human standpoint. He is being the kind of leader that people need, at least in tone, today and yesterday."

Whatever it took, Bash was pleased to see that Trump now understands how "dire" a situation we're in.

Liberal pundits shamed her for sharing that opinion and suggested she had lowered her standards. But she refused to play that partisan game.

President Trump and his coronavirus task force has been holding press briefings every single day to update the American people on their efforts to stop the spread of the disease. On Tuesday, Dr. Deborah Birx updated us on the status of the COVID-19 tests being administered, and Dr. Anthony Fauci explained the importance of self-quarantine.

The U.S. has now nearly 6,000 confirmed cases. Trump has requested nearly $1 trillion for a stimulus package to help Americans hardest hit by the coronavirus, what he called the "invisible enemy." He suggested that life may not return to normal until July or August.
