Well, it's happened again. Sen. Bernie Sanders has found himself victim to the Democratic establishment. The Vermont senator was well on his way to the 2020 nomination and prepping to face President Trump in the fall, having won both the Iowa Caucus and New Hampshire Primary, and scoring hundreds of delegates. But it's Bernie. Fidel Castro-praising, socialist utopia Bernie. And the Democratic Party couldn't risk it. So one-by-one, the rest of the field dropped out and endorsed former Vice President Joe Biden. That was just 10 days ago. Now, Biden is running away with this thing.
"You have now an insurgency that's about to be defeated," CNN commentator Van Jones reacted on Tuesday. "What do you do with the people that you defeat?"
Young people, Jones explained, made up a lot of that insurgency. Bernie Sanders was their champion, and now they're just peeved.
"Instead, the establishment united and stopped them," Jones said. "Now what do you do."
The DNC's assumption that Bernie's voters would suck it up and vote for Hillary Clinton in 2016 didn't pan out. And now that they've been burned twice, it's safe to say they won't be eager to rush to the polls and vote for Joe.

Jones said that for Biden to have a prayer with voters whose "hopes have been crushed," he needs to start showing a bit more empathy.
There are “a lot of people whose hopes have been crushed tonight,” says @VanJones68 of Joe Biden's projected victories. “...They are people who don’t know how they are going to make it … and they don’t see the passion yet from Joe Biden for their pain.” https://t.co/Ost27Ec4Dp pic.twitter.com/p5pr3D4Yid

Jones urged the DNC to "turn" to the Bernie voters and tell them they want to be their champion.
But Biden is not ready. Having lost disastrously in both Iowa and New Hampshire, the former VP was certainly not expecting to be the anointed candidate and it's evident by his exorbitant number of gaffes, including during last night's victory speech.
Ask former DNC chair Donna Brazile these days about the Democratic establishment's bias and she'll tell you to "go to hell." But she was the party's loudest critic in 2016.
