'Nobody Has Said He’s Done Anything Wrong': Joe Biden Defends His Son Hunter on 'The View'

Former Vice President Joe Biden and his wife, Jill, defended their son Hunter during their interview on "The View" Thursday, brushing away the accusations of misconduct Republicans have pointed to in both his personal and professional life.

Co-host Joy Behar asked why the Democratic presidential candidate did not get more angry when President Trump tried to have Ukraine investigate why Hunter sat on the board of a gas company in the country, and drew a large monthly salary, when he had no experience in that field, while Biden was vice president.

Some Senate Republicans called for Hunter to testify in the impeachment trial.

"Well you know, I — I would like to be able to be back in high school and just have [Trump] and I in a room," Biden said. "But all kidding aside, here’s the deal. Look, it is — it is hurtful, particularly when guys like Lindsey Graham who’s a friend of mine do these things."

Biden added that he would not attack Trump's kids because, "That’s not how we were raised. And look, nobody has said he’s done anything wrong. This is a guy who has done nothing but good things his whole life, my son, and ran a food program USA, a whole range of things."

Jill Biden said the "attacks" on Hunter have been really hurtful. "I mean, to hear your son attacked, you know, I expected that Joe would be attacked but not your children."

"The View's" hosts asked how Hunter had been dealing with all the reports on his life, such as being forced to pay child support to a woman in Arkansas with whom Hunter fathered a child, after he met her when she was a stripper in Washington, D.C. while he was also dating his deceased brother's widow.

"He’s doing great. I just — I talk to him almost every day," Biden said.
