Wow: AOC and Her Boyfriend Give White People Tips for Not Being Racist

Progressive darling Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez loves to do strange Instagram live videos. Although they aren't quite up there with Beto O'Rourke's, sometimes they leave you wondering why she would think to talk about a specific topic or say some of the things she does.

The representative from New York decided to do an Instagram live video with her boyfriend, Riley. In the video the two decided to talk about racism and even offer white people tips to combat it.

"So, Riley, what has been helpful to you in combating racism?" Ocasio-Cortez asked her other half.

"I think it's helpful and important to talk to other white people about racism. I think a lot of people don't want to be racist they don't think that they're racist but they also don't know or some of the things they believe or say are or can be racist," he explained. "And I think one of the effective ways is to just talk and kind of teach them about why some of the things they believe or say or think are wrong. Not necessarily racist, but that they're wrong. That will sort of chip away and contribute to some development in this area but not necessarily take someone from being a racist to not being a racist in one conversation."

The congresswoman nodded her head in agreement.

"It's just always being open to learning about racist things that we may have said or done without judgment or defensiveness," AOC explained.

On the video, Ocasio-Cortez wrote out Riley's identified "steps" to combatting racism. Number four was her own added tip.

"Continue to learn & be open to one's own mistakes & admitting our own faults, including acknowledging past racist behaviors and beliefs without sinking into defensiveness or holier-than-thou attitudes," she wrote. "The more you do it, the more you can help others."

What makes these two experts on racism and combatting the issue? It's amazing that AOC is going to talk about being "holier-than-thou" when she has spent her entire time in Washington acting holier-than-thou. She has acted as though she knows more about every issue than others, including average Americans.

Time to take a step off your pedestal, Alexandria.
