Following a meeting with her caucus on Tuesday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced that the House will vote on a resolution to release the articles of impeachment against President Trump on Wednesday. The resolution will also consider who they should designate as impeachment managers.

New: Nancy Pelosi told Democrats that the House is expected to vote on Wednesday on a resolution to transmit the two articles of impeachment to the Senate and name impeachment managers, according to multiple lawmakers.

Asked who he'd like to see as the designated managers, Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-VA) told Fox News reporter Chad Pergram he just wants, "good people."

The House passed the two articles, abuse of power and obstruction of Congress, last month. Pelosi held them hostage for weeks and would continue to do so until Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell agreed to their demands. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer told McConnell he wanted four more witnesses and additional documents from the White House before the Senate proceeded on a trial.

As the days stretched into weeks since the House impeachment vote, even high ranking Democrats told Pelosi that it was "time" to move on and transmit the articles to the upper chamber.
