Joe Biden Gets Confused About Geography Again, on a Pretty Important Topic

Former Vice President Joe Biden delivered a speech in New York City today and mixed up Iraq and Iran. 

It was the Iraqi parliament that voted over the weekend for U.S. troops to leave. The U.S. has no intention to do so at this time. There are no U.S. troops in Iran. 

But while this may be an honest mistake, Biden's record in Iraq and the Obama administration's appeasement of Iran was intentional. It was also devastating. From the Washington FreeBeacon: 

Former vice president Joe Biden reportedly played a decisive role in enabling recently assassinated Iranian terror leader Qassem Soleimani to push the United States out of Iraq and deliver the country into the hands of Iran.

In 2010, as Iraq faced pivotal elections that decided the country's direction, Soleimani went to great lengths to ensure Iranian-backed politicians won control of the government, according to a comprehensive 2013 New Yorker profile of the terror leader by Dexter Filkins.

During that time, Filkins reported, then-vice president Biden called pro-America Iraqi politician Ayad Allawi to demand he stop trying to form a government. This crucial call paved the way for Soleimani to orchestrate an Iranian takeover of the Iraqi political system, according to interviews Filkins conducted with numerous sources.

Further the Hudson Institute points out Iranian terrorist Qassem Soleimani, who President Trump took off the battlefield in a drone strike last week, was directly connected to the Iran nuclear agreement.

According to the terms of the Iran deal announced in Vienna on Tuesday, U.N. Security Council sanctions regarding nuclear-related issues will be lifted on a number of entities and individuals—from Iranian banks to Lebanese assassins, like Anis Nacacche. The name that most sticks out is IRGC-Quds Force commander Qassem Suleimani. Administration officials counsel calm, and explain that Suleimani is still on the U.S. terror list and will remain on the terror list. But that’s irrelevant. The reality is that Suleimani is the key to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.

During his remarks today, Biden suggested the U.S. get back into the Iran deal.
