Border Patrol Arrests Previously Deported, Violent Felon in Arizona

United States Border Patrol agents working in the Tucson Sector arrested a previously deported felon last week near the city of Nogales, Arizona.

Santiago Villarreal-Balderrama has a long criminal record, including a conviction of manslaughter, and has re-entered the U.S. illegally a number of times. He is a Mexican citizen.

"Records checks revealed Villarreal-Balderrama, a citizen of Mexico, was convicted of manslaughter by Maricopa County, Arizona, in 1985 and sentenced to five years of confinement," CBP released. "Villarreal-Balderrama has illegally entered and been removed from the United States multiple times since his 1985 arrest, will face federal prosecution for immigration violations."

Just days before this arrest, Border Patrol agents took a convicted illegal alien sex offender into custody. He had also been previously deported after carrying out his crime in Texas.

"Tucson Sector Border Patrol agents arrested a previously convicted sex offender near Palominas, Sunday night," CBP released. "Agents apprehended 46-year-old Milton Portilla-Moscoso at approximately 9 p.m. after he illegally entered the United States. Records checks revealed Portilla-Moscoso, a citizen of Ecuador, was convicted of sexual assault by Dallas County, Texas, in 2011. He was sentenced to eight years of probation and deported to Ecuador."

According to numbers provided by Customs and Border Protection, last year, 195 illegal aliens with criminal records were arrested in the Tucson Sector alone. These records, like that of Villarreal-Balderrama and Portilla-Moscoso, are riddled with violent and heinous crimes.
