Multiple People, Including One Officer, Shot and Killed in Active Shooting in Jersey City

UPDATE (3:43 p.m. ET): Multiple people, including one police officer, were killed in the shooting, the office of Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez and Mayor Steven Fulop confirmed.

UPDATE: Police confirm that Sacred Heart School, which had been placed on lockdown, has been cleared and that no children are in danger.

An active shooting has been reported at a Kosher Bodega in Jersey City, New Jersey. The two individuals, believed to be a man and a woman, had fired upon police and pedestrians from a building on Martin Luther King Drive, according to nj.com. Two cops have reportedly been shot, one of whom was shot in the head. Jersey City Board of Education President Sudhan Thomas confirmed that all schools in the area are on lockdown. The ATF is responding.

Police have reportedly heard "at least 20 gunshots," according to Fox News reporter Bryan Llenas, who is on the scene.

President Trump has been briefed on the situation.
