Gabbard Defends Her Fox News Appearances, Sounds Off Again on 'Clinton Machine'

Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) sounded off again on Hillary Clinton on Tuesday, and she wondered why more of her 2020 opponents weren't doing the same. You'll remember that Clinton accused Gabbard of being a Russian asset some weeks ago, and hasn't backed off of the claim.

If Clinton wasn't outright calling Gabbard a traitor, then she was calling her an "unwitting" one, meaning that she was "too stupid" to know that she was being used, the presidential candidate interpreted on Joe Rogan's radio show.

Just as frustrating as Clinton's accusation is that the media has failed to do a proper fact check, she added, suggesting that "the power of the Clinton machine” has blinded the media establishment.

“When you look at the media establishment pushing a lot of the same narrative and a lot of the same message, then you can see how someone gets away with calling a sitting member of Congress, a candidate for president, a soldier actively serving in the National Guard, veteran of two Middle East deployments, basically a traitor of the country that I love and that I’m willing to lay my life down for,” Gabbard told Rogan. “And to get away with it without any evidence or basis whatsoever.”

In her conversation with Rogan, Gabbard also took a few more shots at another Democrat, her 2020 opponent Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA). At the last DNC debate, Harris condemned Gabbard for repeatedly going on Fox News to bash Democrats. Gabbard defended her Fox News appearances because she doesn't believe in ignoring half the country.

“I have a platform to be able to speak to millions of people across the country about the kind of leadership I bring in the area of foreign policy," she explained. "What I would do here in this country, what I would do there in that country if I were president today. And I have the opportunity to deliver that message directly to people’s living rooms or offices or wherever they are.”

"How do you think you’re gonna lead this country, all Americans, if you’re completely not only shutting out and not willing to do talk to half the country that watches Fox News, but you’re in fact disrespecting and dismissing them just because they may disagree with you, or they watch a different news channel than you do," she continued.

She didn't expect Harris or Clinton to understand, recalling how Clinton referred to half the country as "deplorables."

Rogan commended Gabbard for making such a splash in the election, crediting her with poking holes in Harris's campaign by challenging her criminal justice record.
