Ranking member Devin Nunes (R-CA) announced at Wednesday's public impeachment inquiry hearing that Republicans have filed a formal request to subpoena the Bidens and the whistleblower for sworn testimony.

“The whistleblower’s testimony is necessary for a full and fair understanding of all relevant facts,” the Republican ranking members and chairs write. “The Inspector General of the Intelligence Community reported that the whistleblower had a political bias against President Trump and public reports suggest that the whistleblower worked closely with former Vice President Joe Biden. In addition, there are multiple discrepancies between the whistleblower’s complaint – the piece of evidence central to the Democrats’ inquiry – and the closed-door testimony of the witnesses. For these reasons, we must assess the whistleblower’s credibility and the sources he or she utilized to develop the anonymous complaint.”
The GOP leaders add that the Democrats have similarly refused to allow them to investigate Hunter Biden and his work on the board of corrupt Ukrainian gas company Burisma Holdings. His presence on the board is what reportedly prompted President Trump to ask Ukraine President Zelensky to investigate the Bidens during their July phone call.
The Republican letter also notes that they plan to subpoena a few entities like the Democratic National Committee for relevant documents, like the committee's communication with Ukrainian officials.
But remember, per the Democrat-authored resolution outlining the impeachment proceedings, Chairman Schiff has the power to reject any witness he wants. So I think we all know where the above request will go.
