U.S. Customs and Border Protection Agents were busy in Arizona last weekend. Agents apprehended two illegal aliens and nearly $450K worth of narcotics.

On Friday afternoon, a Border Patrol canine working at a checkpoint detected an odor emanating from a Dodge Charger. The odor turned out to be more than 135 pounds of methamphetamines found hidden in the trunk. According to the press release, the methamphetamines have a street value around $312,000.
Later that evening, a canine detected another odor from a Honda Civic. Two United States citizens and one Mexican citizen were arrested, and 16 bags of methamphetamines were discovered inside the vehicle. The 16 bags carry a street value around $61,000.
Then on Saturday morning, a Jeep Compass was stopped carrying two United States citizens and two illegal aliens from Mexico. And just hours after that, agents stopped a Cadillac CTS on a nearby route commonly used to evade an immigration checkpoint. The two occupants, both United States citizens, were arrested after more than 5 pounds of cocaine and over 13 pounds of fentanyl were discovered behind the vehicle’s quarter panels. The cocaine has an estimated street value of more than $66,000.
I’d say Border Protection Agents are earning their keep.
