One Billionaire Plans To Use Part Of His Fortune To Make Sure Trump Gets Re-Elected In 2020

Billionaire Bernie Marcus, the co-founder of Home Depot, is a known philanthropist throughout the state of Georgia The 90-year-old has given major gifts totally more than $2 billion to various organizations and causes, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported. He plans to use part of his fortune to help President Donald Trump get re-elected in 2020. 

When Marcus passes, 80 to 90 percent of his wealth will go to the Marcus Foundation. His foundation will then distribute the funds to worthy philanthropic causes. Specifically, he wants to help kids with autism and veterans suffering from brain injuries and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

“I want to live to be 100 because I want to be in a position to give it away to those things that I really believe in," Marcus explained. “I’ve got all the houses I need. I live very well. My kids are taken care of. Everything I live for now is finding the right things to put my money into and that can give me a rate of return in emotion and doing good things for this world.”

The billionaire's net worth various depending on who you ask. Forbes estimates his net worth to be $5.8 billion, while Bloomberg estimated it to be at $4.53 billion. Marcus, however, declines to say what exactly he's worth.

Marcus was one of President Trump's top donors during the 2016 presidential election. The Home Depot co-founder said Trump deserves praise for boosting the economy, the number of new American jobs, confronting China about trade and acting against Iranian and North Korean aggression.

Although his political spending will be smaller than his philanthropic spending, Marcus is expected to be a big Trump contributor this election cycle.
