New York AG Answers Trump's Charge That She Is Politically Targeting Him

President Trump has had enough of the liberal New York officials who are waging a legal campaign against him. Former state attorney general Eric Schneiderman filed a lawsuit against Trump last year accusing him of using the Trump Foundation for his own political purposes. The president agreed to dissolve the foundation's assets to other nonprofit organizations, but New York leaders continued to probe.

When Letitia James was elected last year after Schneiderman resigned over sexual misconduct allegations, she promised to use her new power specifically to target Trump. And that she has. In her first year on the job, she has subpoenaed Trump's banks, seeking information about the Trump Organization and the president's finances. She wants $2.8 million in restitution and a ban on Trump or his family operating any New York charities for ten years.

Trump shared his frustrations online on Monday.

James answered the president.

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo shared his reaction to Trump's tweetstorm via a conference call with reporters.

"He doesn’t understand how government works," Cuomo charged

"If he has nothing to hide, he has nothing to worry about," he concluded.
