BREAKING: President Trump Summons Congressional Leaders to Situation Room For Iran Briefing

President Trump summoned congressional leaders to the Situation Room at the White House on Thursday afternoon after Iran shot down a U.S. drone in international air space.

"Iran made a big mistake. This drone was in international waters, clearly. We have it all documented scientifically not just words. And they made a very bad mistake," Trump told reporters from the Oval Office ahead of a meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

When asked how the U.S. will respond to the attack, President Trump said "you'll find out."

"Look, I said I want to get out of these endless wars, I campaigned on that, I want to get out," Trump said.
"We beat the Caliphate. We took back the 100 percent of the Caliphate. At 99 percent, Justin, I said we're going to get out we're going to start peeling back and everybody went crazy because it was 99, and so I said all right, so we'll finish it up. So we got 100 per cent. And we're pulling that back out of Syria. We're pulling a lot of people back."

"But this is a new wrinkle, a new fly in the ointment what happened, shooting down a drone. And this country will not stand for it, that I can tell you," he continued.

President Trump's allies on Capitol Hill are watching Iran's behavior closely. Earlier this week Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell embraced the administration's approach to combating the regime and backed the deployment of 1000 additional troops to the region.

Iran hawk, Senator Lindsey Graham, is warning Iran that they will decide how this ends.
