Billionaire Mark Cuban said no Democratic candidate has a chance “right now” of defeating President Trump in the 2020 presidential election.
Cuban said voters are leery of politicians, which is one of the reasons Trump won in 2016. The problem with the 20-plus Democratic candidates is that they are all politicians.
“The reality is people don’t trust politicians,” the Dallas Mavericks owner said in the telephone interview on CNBC’s “Halftime Report. ” “If you look at why people voted for Donald Trump, in my opinion, first and foremost it was because he wasn’t a politician.”
He continued: “Politicians are the least trusted of every profession.”
When asked specifically which Democrat he thought had a chance of winning, Cuban replied, “nobody right now.”

He sounded more optimistic about former Vice President Joe Biden’s entry into the race but said it’s too early in the race to say for certain.
“I like Vice President Biden,” he said. “I think he’s smart and he could do a decent job, but I think it’s way too early to tell.”
Another problem with the Democratic candidates for president he said is that right now their proposals are nothing but “headline porn.”
“I don’t think they believe what they’re proposing is passable,” he said.
Cuban, who once considered jumping in the 2016 race, said a presidential run could be in his future.
“We’ll see what happens,” he said. “It would take the perfect storm for me to do it. There’s some things that could open the door, but I’m not projecting or predicting it right now.”
