Republicans are demanding that Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) step down as House Intelligence Committee chairman because of his starring role in the media's Russian collusion spin. Special counsel Robert Mueller has concluded that President Trump did not collude with Russia to win the White House, yet Schiff is not giving up on peddling the theory. All nine Republican members of the committee submitted a letter at the outset of Thursday's hearing ripping Schiff for continuing to promote a "demonstrably false narrative."
At her Capitol Hill press conference, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi hit back at Republicans for bullying the Intel chairman.
NEW: "I'm so proud of the work of Chairman Adam Schiff," Speaker Pelosi says after GOP members of House Intel Committee call for his resignation.

"They're afraid of the truth, they're afraid of competence, they're afraid of a leader who is recognized in our country for being calm, professional and patriotic," Pelosi claimed.
Some of Schiff's more "calm" moments include last week when he shared his concerns about Trump's relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"And there's still a lot of reason to be concerned about this president's relationship with Russia and [Vladimir] Putin," he said. "And so that evidence needs to be provided so we can make sure that we protect the country."

He has also threatened subpoenas against Attorney General William Barr and Special Counsel Robert Mueller to squeeze every last detail out of the Russia report.
Donald Trump Jr. called Schiff "the leader of the tinfoil hat brigade."
Pelosi herself isn't satisfied with Barr's condensed version of Mueller's report. She said they have no use for the "condescending" summary. They want the full version.
