Speaking before boarding Air Force One in Florida Sunday afternoon on his way back to Washington D.C., President Trump responded to the findings of Robert Mueller's Special Counsel investigation.
"After a long look, after a long investigation, after so many people have been so badly hurt, after not looking at the other side, a lot of bad things happened, a lot of horrible things happened, for our country, it was just announced there was no collusion with Russia. The most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. There was no collusion with Russia," Trump told reporters. "There was no obstruction, none whatsoever. And it was a complete and total exoneration. It's a shame that our country had to go through this. To be honest, it's a shame that your president has had to go through this. Before I even got elected it began. It began illegally and hopefully somebody's going to look at the other side. This was an illegal take down that failed."
"So it's complete exoneration, no collusion, no obstruction," he concluded.
President Trump spent the weekend at Mar-a-Lago. He held a series of meetings with foreign leaders and members of his administration.
Senate Judicary Committe Chairman Lindsey Graham golfed with the President earlier today and released the following statement after Attorney General Barr released the summary of Mueller's report.
“I have just received topline findings from Attorney General Barr. Good day for the rule of law. Great day for President Trump and his team. No collusion and no obstruction. The cloud hanging over President Trump has been removed by this report. Bad day for those hoping the Mueller investigation would take President Trump down," Graham said. “Great job by Mr. Mueller and his team to thoroughly examine all things Russia. Now it is time to move on, govern the country, and get ready to combat Russia and other foreign actors ahead of 2020.”
Last week, Graham called for a Special Counsel to look into FISA abuse at the FBI which led to the launch of the Special Counsel investigation two years ago.
