WATCH: President Trump Slams Socialism: 'America Was Founded on Liberty And Independence'

One of the most defining moments of President Donald Trump's State of the Union address was when he slammed socialism, a clear reference to freshmen members of Congress who have called for higher taxes and Medicare For All. 

"Here in the United States, we are alarmed by the new calls to adopt socialism in our country. America was founded on liberty and Independence and not government coercion, domination, and control. We are born free, and we will stay free," Trump said.

He also defended the principles America was founded on.

"America was founded on liberty and Independence and not government coercion, domination, and control. We are born free and we will stay free," he explained. "America will never be a socialist country."

The future of our country is at stake. We have new generations who are so focused on leveling the playing field and taking from others that they're forgetting America's founding principles.

Naturally, CSPAN panned in on Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), who has become the face of socialism in America.

But some wondered what the reaction from Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) was. After all, she's recently called for a 70 percent tax on the rich. 

Face it, Democrats. Socialism is not in America's future and we'll fight like hell to make sure it never happens.
