Report: Bernie Sanders Set To Seek Highest Office In 2020

Yahoo News reports that democratic-socialist Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders is set to "imminently" announce his bid for president of the United States in 2020.

via Yahoo News:

Two sources with direct knowledge of his plans told Yahoo News that Sanders, an independent and self-described “democratic socialist,” plans to announce his presidential bid imminently. While Sanders has been considering a bid for months, one of the sources said he was emboldened by early polls of the race that have consistently showed him as one of the top candidates in a crowded Democratic primary field. In particular, the source said Sanders was heartened to see numbers indicating he is one of the leading candidates among African American and Latino voters, two groups he was perceived as struggling with in 2016.

These sources said that Sen. Sanders feels confident that he is "light years away" from 2016 in terms of popularity, adding that most people had no idea who the lifelong government worker was then but now he is one of the most popular elected officials in the country.

Sen. Sanders is supposedly currently piecing together the necessary campaign and infrastructure for the presidential run. “He’s already talking to staff and there are people he’s hiring. They’re nailing down contracts with vendors,...all the movement is there for him to run,” Yahoo's source said.

Throughout his career,  Sen. Sanders has constantly pedaled socialism, attacking the rich, and a generally favorable disposition towards financially ruinous countries such as Venezuela as the cornerstone of his political philosophy. The Vermont senator earned his first salary at age 40 while working for the government. He has previously said that "The whole quality of life in America is based on greed. I believe in the redistribution of wealth in this nation."
