Well, it looks like anti-Pelosi Democrats are back to square one because their potential candidate to challenger Nancy for the speakership, Rep. Marcia Fudge (D-OH), has bowed out. Fudge will be supporting Pelosi, though she has said prior that she would be considering a challenge. There are at least 16-17 House Democratswho will not support Pelosi for speaker. They’ve all signed a letter making their intentions known, though there are more Democrats who aren’t signatories who are opposed to Pelosi. It’s quite possible that Nancy might not have the votes, but without a candidate—it makes this whole crusade moot.

Rep. Marcia Fudge announced she will support Nancy Pelosi for speaker, just days after saying she might challenge the California Democrat.
Anti-Pelosi forces are working hard to deny her the 218 votes needed to become speaker but have yet to find anyone who will challenge her for the gavel.
Over the past few days, Pelosi and Fudge had met, adding more to the intrigue. But let’s be honest; this means that Nancy will probably be speaker. Yes, there was a bit more noise concerning some younger Democrats saying that the lady should get out of the way, but this is the Democratic Party. You obey—no matter what. Also, this probably had nothing to do with Fudge’s decision, right?
