Former Fox Anchor, 'Sister, Sister' Actress Lose Niece in Borderline Bar Shooting

Adam Housley, a former Fox News anchor, and his wife Tamera Mowry-Housley, the former star of the 1990s sitcom "Sister, Sister," confirmed Thursday that their niece, Alaina Housley, was killed in the shooting in Thousand Oaks, CA. The couple released the following statement about her.

"Our hearts are broken," the statement reads. "We just learned that our niece Alaina was one of the victims of last night's shooting at Borderline bar in Thousand Oaks. Alaina was an incredible young woman with so much life ahead of her and we are devastated that her life was cut short in this manner. We thank everyone for your prayers and ask for privacy at this time."

The suspect, identified as a 28-year-old Marine Corps veteran, killed 12 people Wednesday night at a college event called "Country Night" at Thousand Oaks's Borderline Bar.

Before Alaina's death had been confirmed, her roommate posted a frantic message asking for help.

Housley also shared this heartbreaking post on Instagram.

Our hearts and prayers are with Adam, Tamera, Ashley and the rest of Alaina's family and friends, as with all those affected by Wednesday's tragedy.
