Lindsey Graham Says Kim Jong Un Should Meet With Trump If He Wants to 'Survive'

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) had a message for North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un Wednesday during an interview with Fox’s Martha McCallum.

“Here’s what’s crazy,” Graham said, “to keep building ICBMs that can deliver a nuclear weapon to America and believe that Donald Trump won’t do anything about it, that probably worked with Obama but I’m here to tell North Korea that our president has drawn a red line.”

“If you keep threatening the American homeland with a nuclear weapon we’re going to destroy your regime,” he warned. “It's that simple.”

“So if you want to survive, Kim Jong Un, you need to sit down with the president and do a deal giving up your nukes,” Graham concluded. “If you keep doing what you're doing, you are miscalculating Donald Trump. He's not Obama. You do this at your own peril."

North Korea threatened Wednesday to pull out of the planned summit with President Trump if the U.S. demands that it unilaterally abandons its nuclear program in exchange for economic aid.

President Trump said that the U.S. had not heard any official word from North Korea regarding the summit and "we'll see what happens."

White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders, told reporters that North Korea's statement was "something that we fully expected."

"If they want to meet we'll be ready, and if they don't, that's OK too," she said.
