ORIGINAL POST:
Russia is shuttering its U.S. consulate in St. Petersburg, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov announced Thursday. As such, they are expelling 60 diplomats, the same amount the U.S. did earlier this week.
The U.S. expelled Russian diplomats on Monday for Moscow's supposed role in the nerve agent attack against a former Russian spy, Sergei Skripal, 66, and his daughter, Yulia Skripal, 33, both living in England.
Russia has denied involvement in the attack.
