Yeah, DNC Chair, That’s What Total Losers Say About Their Party's Garbage Fundraising Numbers

We’ve all known the Democratic National Committee’s numbers are total garbage. The party is in a dismal financial state, but they’ve seen an uptick in their fundraising hauls, mostly because they’re combining the DNC numbers proper with that of a grassroots wing that caters to wealthy donors.

The Republican National Committee has been killing it. That was made explicitly clear during the State of the Union, where the DNC tried to quietly file their financial report to show that not only are their numbers trash, but that they’re also millions of dollars in debt. Concerning cash on hand, the RNC had almost $40 million available compared to less than $7 million for the DNC. So, how does DNC chair Tom Perez say about this? Well, his committee makes up for the lag behind the RNC by arguing that they’re not “morally bankrupt” (via The Hill):

Democratic National Committee Chairman Tom Perez on Wednesday said even if his party's fundraising  lags behind that of the Republican party, they make up for it by not being "morally bankrupt."

"We’ve been winning elections over the course of 2017. This is not an aberration, this is a trend. And I think we’re winning because frankly, while the Republican National Committee outraises us, they’re morally bankrupt. They’re investing in the likes of Roy Moore in Alabama," Perez said on Fox News Channel's "Special Report with Bret Baier."

The Republican National Committee has been outraising the DNC for months.

Oh, but it gets better:

"We raised more money last year, Bret, then 2015, 2013. When I came in, we were basically shut down. I didn't get there until roughly the first of March," Perez said.

Baier then showed a graphic comparing the DNC's and RNC's January 2018 fundraising and 2017 year-end fundraising.

It didn't paint a good picture for the Democrats on any metric, with Democrats having 20 percent less cash than Republicans.

"The RNC has richer donors. We raise money from the grassroots," Perez said.

Seriously, does Tom Perez not know that his small donor army has collapsed? Honestly, when you try to elevate so-called moral victories to explain why you’re sucking so badly, it just makes you sound like one of those people who think everyone deserves a trophy, that there are no winners and losers. Well, in this contest, the DNC are losers. And what Perez said is what total losers say about their abysmal fundraising hauls.
