UPDATE: The U.K. has raised its terror threat level to "critical" in the wake of the attack. Previously, the threat level was at "severe."

The Islamic State has taken credit for the explosion on Friday morning in the London subway, which injured 29 people. ISIS took credit for the attack on its news agency, Amaq., and said it was carried out by "a unit affiliated to the Islamic State."

The explosive device failed to fully detonate, which likely spared people's lives. The explosion happened on a train at Parsons Green Station. A second device was located and defused. Thankfully, nobody suffered life-threatening injuries in the attack.

ISIS was also behind the London Bridge Attack in June, which saw eight people, plus three terrorists, killed.
