Navarro: Trump Is Holding Young People Under DACA 'Hostage'

One of President Trump's loudest Republican critics, CNN contributor Ana Navarro, took to Twitter Tuesday for a preemptive strike against the president before he announces his DACA decision.

"Dreamers, please know you're not alone," she added.

Rumor has it that Trump is expected to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program Tuesday. The program, enacted under President Obama via executive action, protects illegal immigrants who came to the U.S. as minors from immediate deportation. DACA's defenders have consistently argued that children who came their with their parents should not be punished. After all, America is the only home they know.

That's not just liberals saying that. Republican lawmakers like Sen. James Lankford (OH) have urged Trump to understand that the children are innocent of their parents' crimes.

"We as Americans do not hold children legally accountable for the actions of their parents," he said.

Navarro also tweeted Tuesday that House Speaker Paul Ryan was her last hope.

"I actually don't think he should do that," Ryan has said of Trump's potentially ending DACA. "I believe that this is something that Congress has to fix."

Trump told Congress to brace for his decision.
