Here's How You Can Help Those Affected by Hurricane Harvey

There are many ways you can help all those affected by Hurricane Harvey. Below is a list of some of the organizations that are in desperate need of donations. 

The Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund, which was established by Houston’s Mayor Sylvester Turner

Team Rubicon, which teams up military veterans with first responders to rapidly deploy emergency response teams.

Carter BloodCare covers hospitals in north, central and east Texas. You can call 877-571-1000 or text DONATE4LIFE to 444-999 to schedule a donation.

The South Texas Blood and Tissue Center. Call 210-731-5590 to donate.

American Red Cross

Airbnb has set up an urgent accommodations site to help those in the surrounding areas to offer their homes to people in need of shelter and those seeking it. According to the site, “All service fees are waived for those affected by the disaster and checking in between August 23, 2017 and September 25, 2017.”

Portlight Strategies, which helps people with disabilities. 

GoFundMe has a page set up for all of its Hurricane Harvey-related campaigns, as does YouCaring. 

Animals are in need of help too, and many of the following organizations are flying abandoned dogs and cats to shelters in other parts of the country: SPCA of Texas, San Antonio Humane Society, The Humane Society of the United States, Wings of Rescue, GreaterGood.org, Austin Pets Alive!
