Republican Karen Handel beat Democrat Jon Ossoff in the most expensive congressional bout in history. Yet, based on Jon Ossoff’s concession speech last night, you’d think he won the election. It was sort of a throwback to when he wasn’t able to seal the deal back in April, calling his non-primary victory a “win for the ages.” When in reality—it was the beginning of the runoff campaign that would end in abject defeat. Still, Democrats think they won something—a moral victory—which are the best kind for losers because everything is fungible. The point is you lost and no one cares about second place in politics. I’m sure there are fantastic hot takes from the Left, but here are some good ones compliments of our friends at Twitchy.
One important lesson is that when they go low, going high doesn't f**king work.

Definitely disappointing. But remember, the race should have been an easy win for Rs. That it was even close is a big deal. https://t.co/dlpUAJk1t2

"What!" shrieks a girl at Ossoff's elex party as CNN projects a win for Handel #GA06

Another night where we get to learn that losing is really winning or something.

Brief and scattered shouts of "not my congresswoman" at the Ossoff event

You can't fight like hell because your former boss put your party in this position. Cool Spotify playlists tho https://t.co/CgPstpD7z5

Important to note Handel didn't win #GA06 by embracing Trump. In many ways, she distanced herself from him. This is not Trump's victory.

Democracy for America trashes Ossoff. "Same, tired centrist Democratic playbook that has come up short cycle after cycle will not suffice."

Oh, and let’s not forget this little back-and-forth former senior Obama adviser Dan Pfeiffer had on Twitter with someone who appeared to be a Democratic Party member on how to win again.
To take back the House, we need lean GOP voters who disapprove of Trump to vote for a Dem. This is hard, but very doable over 18 months
— Dan Pfeiffer (@danpfeiffer) June 21, 2017
what if we proposed things our voters like? that seems easier and more honest.
— mike casca (@cascamike) June 21, 2017
what am i misunderstanding? you're saying target right leaning voters who might vote for a dem once because of trump. no?
— mike casca (@cascamike) June 21, 2017
to what end? if trump is wedge, once he's gone they go right back to voting for the gop, right? what's the point of that?

Followed by this meltdown by Jason Kander, the failed Missouri Democratic candidate who tried to boot Republican Sen. Roy Blunt.
GOP will say this means the storm has passed, but Jon over preformed every D #GA06 candidate ever.
— Jason Kander (@JasonKander) June 21, 2017
We aren't fooled. Momentum is with us!
Republicans gained literally nothing in #GA06 election. They are losing tons of voters in every special election and calling them wins. Sad!
— Jason Kander (@JasonKander) June 21, 2017
If I were Jason Kander, I wouldn't be talking up John Ossoff; there's only so many cable news jobs for dudes who almost won. Protect ya turf

Ouch!
And finally Fox News' Greg Gutfeld taking a swipe at George Takei:
