President Trump’s public feud with London Mayor Sadiq Khan is not sitting well with Prime Minister Theresa May. In an interview with The Sun, May urged Trump to put politics aside.
“The relationship with America is our deepest and most important defence and security relationship," she said. “Having said that, I think Donald Trump is wrong in what he said about Sadiq Khan, in relation to the attack on London Bridge.
In the initial aftermath from this weekend’s attacks in London, Trump tweeted that Khan should be ashamed of himself for telling his citizens there’s "no reason to be alarmed."
Yet, Khan’s supporters pushed back at Trump’s assertion, noting that Khan was simply telling Londoners not to be afraid of the increased police presence as the city took necessary precautions. Again, Trump did not accept that explanation, accusing the media of spinning the narrative in the mayor’s favor.

May defended Khan, noting how he has been closely working with her to get the city back on track after a series of deadly attacks.
“He’s been at the COBRAs and we’ve been working with him to ensure the response was right, and to get London moving again," she explained.
Not everyone is blaming Trump for the war of words. Republican Rep. Chris Collins (NY) defended the president Tuesday, claiming that Khan initiated the feud months ago.
