President Trump defended his blocked executive order Monday, which is being appealed to the Supreme Court.
“People, the lawyers and the courts can call it whatever they want, but I am calling it what we need and what it is, a TRAVEL BAN!” he tweeted.

The president went on to say that the Justice Department should have submitted his original executive order instead of the “watered down” version.
“The Justice Dept. should have stayed with the original Travel Ban, not the watered down, politically correct version they submitted to S.C.” he continued.

Trump also called for an expedited hearing of the case.

Because the “courts are slow and political,” the president made clear that the U.S. would be extremely vigilant in the vetting process of people coming to America.

Justice Department spokeswoman Sarah Isgur Flores said in a statement last week that the DOJ "asked the Supreme Court to hear this important case and [is] confident that President Trump's executive order is well within his lawful authority to keep the nation safe and protect our communities from terrorism."
The tweets come after a terror attack in London over the weekend, which killed seven people and injured 48 others.
