The Congressional Budget Office revealed Friday that it will release its score for the revised American Health Care Act next Wednesday, May 24.

During remarks on the House floor Friday, Democratic Minority Whip Steny Hoyer wondered why the AHCA is stalling in the lower chamber, while also suggesting the Republican leadership should schedule a revote on the bill following the CBO assessment.
“It’s still within the bosom of the House, warmly embraced, aging, unfortunately not to perfection,” Hoyer said.
House Speaker Paul Ryan rejected the need to vote again in the House, simply noting that they are waiting to send the bill to the Senate until the CBO has its say.
The CBO's analysis of the original AHCA was pretty underwhelming. While it did predict the bill would lower average premiums by 2020, it also said premiums would rise the first few years and that 14 million people would lose their insurance.
House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy responded to Hoyer's request with a smirk.
"We can walk the bill over there together because I believe the American people are waiting for it," he said.
