Rep. Fortenberry Tweets Response After A Vulgar Sign Left by Protestors Scares His Children

Rep. Jeff Fortenberry (R-NE) tweeted out a message to protestors Thursday after his 11-year-old daughter discovered a vulgar sign in their yard left by protestors.

Fortenberry tweeted a picture of the sign with the message: “This sign was placed on my lawn last night. Be angry with me, direct your protest at me, but do not frighten my children in their home.”

The group that appears to be responsible for the sign, The Betsy Riot, tweeted a similarly vulgar message bragging about helping “enhance” the Fortenberry home’s curb.

The group describes itself as “neo-suffragist” and “punk patriot” defending “America against Trumpism,” apparently by exposing children to vulgar messages on their front lawns.

Nebraska Senator Ben Sasse tweeted support of Fortenberry saying, “People who scream this stuff around kids are not serious about either country or basic neighborliness. We can do better.”
